A: Echo Stretch is a feature in some marine radar which, when activated, enlarges the target echoes, especially small echoes.Hazard:i. It will magnify not only small target pips but also sea/rain clutters & radar interferences.ii. Small target echoes in close vicinity of each other will merge to appear as one target.Precautions:i. Suppress interference, sea/rain clutter prior to activating this feature, to prevent enlargement of unwanted echoes.ii. Sharp lookout should be kept to verify multiple targets.iii.
